Coaches

Meet the official B90X Coaches!  These nine individuals will help guide you through the 90 days by regularly posting their thoughts and discoveries under “today’s post” above.  Visit the blog daily to read the latest updates and add your own comments to the discussion.

There’s really nothing special about the Coaches.  They are ordinary people like you who have committed to reading through the Bible in 90 days.  And just like you, they have to figure out how to balance the demands of the reading schedule along with work, family, travel and everything else that happens in their lives.  Of course, they do have a little bit of extra pressure to keep on track since they have to post their thoughts for the world to see!

Dan Baker
I am married to a wonderful woman named LeAnn and I have two terrific kids named Kayla (2) and Josiah (5 mos).  I have been on staff of G.O.C.C. since March of 2005, and I currently serve as Pastor of Children’s Ministry.   For fun I like to watch college football, play with my kids, do a little fishing, and an occasional round of poorly played golf.  I received Christ as my Savior as a little kid while attending church.  It’s been an awesome adventure ever since and now I have the joy of helping kids learn about Jesus each week in Kids Town.

Desiree Clark
Desiree has resided in Germantown Hills for two years with her husband, Vince, and their four children; Joshua (19), Alexander (14), Jacob (12), and Shannon (9). She is currently a graduate student at Urbana Theological Seminary and will finish her degree in August. Her hobbies include scrapbooking, reading, camping, and selling items on Ebay! She is a member of Great Oaks Community Church. “Since I was a kid, I have been fascinated with the Bible. It’s rich history and Revelations of God truly inspire me. I cannot wait to get started with the B90X challenge and the great conversation it will bring!”

Chelsea Corwin
Chelsea is a life-long mid-westerner who moved to the Peoria area after college.  She was raised in a Baptist church where she came to know Christ at a young age but it wasn’t until late high school where her relationship with Jesus changed from a “rule provider” to a compassionate, loving, intimate Redeemer.  Chelsea and her husband, Chris, have been attending GOCC for about 2.5 years and can be found most Sunday nights getting schooled in dodgeball or various Wii games by the Culture Shift students.  When Chelsea isn’t working as a software administrator, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, Rease (1), baking, reading and sewing.

Chris Genders
Chris has served as the Pastor of Adult Ministries of Great Oaks since September of 2007.  He and his wife, Karen, will celebrate their 15th anniversary this August.  Along with spending time with his two kids, Ethan [8] and Morgan [5], Chris enjoys running, camping, backpacking, whitewater rafting and traveling.  This summer, Chris will have the incredible opportunity to travel to Israel for a 16-day hiking/study trip and will also have the opportunity to cross off one of his life-list events – to see the Grand Canyon – during a family vacation to California, Nevada & Arizona.

Dan & Diana Hoehne
We are blessed in our marriage of 29 years and by our 2 children and grandchild. Through our ministry, Worship Films, we serve Christ in the Third World through production of documentary films and through leading medical teams. We believe our lives are not ours but His and we thank God for His enduring love and grace.

Heather Lambiase
Heather is a Germantown Hills transplant, she moved here two years ago from San Antonio.  She loves the autumn here, but misses the constant sunshine of TX.  Heather is married to husband Steve and is kept very busy by her four sons.  She loves to study the Bible and is looking forward to the challenge of reading all 66 books in just 90 days!

Mary Zehner
Steve and I returned to our Illinois roots in 1999 after 15 years in MN, and have attended Great Oaks since then.  Mentoring by the Navigators has shaped my walk with God and challenged me to study and apply His Word to everyday life, including my role as a homemaker and Mom to our two kids.  GOCC folks know me as the silly front-door greeter with the big blue coat!

Steve Zehner
As you walk into second service on a Sunday, do you notice the balding blond 50ish year old male setting in the back and helping with the offering? That’s me – born and raised in southern Illinois, lived in St. Paul, Minnesota for a number of years, then moved to Washington about 11 years ago
to be within driving distance of family.  I met Christ at a small country church and grew in a deeper relationship with Him through youth groups and in college with the Navigators where I met my wonderful wife Mary.  We’ve been married over 26 years and are semi-empty nesters with a son out east and our daughter occasionally gracing our home when not at college.
